Malaysia: Ipoh & Taiping Kid-Friendly Trip 2017
We wanted to go back to the dim sum place we visited during our earlier trip to Ipoh, but it was closed today. So we took a chance at Restoran Chef Fatt and weren’t disappointed. It’s only open until 2pm every day.
It was really crowded when we reached at 10am but we managed to get a seat. The fried prawn is really really good, and everything we ordered was yummy. Servers will bring the food to you to choose. We ordered 12 plates with tea, which came up to RM48.
Next, we went to nearby Sin Eng Heong biscuit shop which is famous for its freshly baked kaya puffs. They’re super addictive and really cheap (I think it’s RM1/piece). Now I’ve 18 at home and 2 in my belly.
We visited the Tibetan temple which requires you to drive through a narrow road. It’s a quiet place where you can climb up the pagoda to the top (be careful of bird droppings along the way).
Ît was a really hot day, so we cooled off at Zakka Loft which sells upmarket food, interesting ice cream flavours and handmade products.
We ordered the waffles with Dark Chocolate Kahlúa and Vanilla Bean with Mars and Snickers.
You can sit on the dark side, or the light side (I preferred the latter) and peruse the handmade products to buy for someone special.
With a bit more time to kill before going back to the airport, we dropped by Taman Rekreasi Sultan Abdul Aziz which has playgrounds and fitness areas.
As with any playground, please check to see it’s safe for your kid.
Most of the slides at this playground were broken, so we warned J1 not to slide down the broken ones.
There is a huge field you can play ball at and many swings (although they can be a bit low).
We finally ended our trip to Ipoh and Taiping with a short 1 hour flight back to our home, Singapore, where the weather isn’t so different but the pace of life is.
